Manchester representative on the Law Society’s Council has been elected as the organisation’s new deputy vice president.
Jeff Lewis, a deputy district judge on the Northern circuit since 2001, will take office in October this year before becoming vice president in 2027 and president of the Law Society in 2028.
Lewis, who joined independent law firm Brabners Solicitors as a partner in 2005, has represented Manchester on the Law Society Council since 2016. A commercial litigator, he is a former president of Manchester Law Society.
Lewis, who is the 184th deputy vice president of the Law Society, said: ‘I look forward to being a strong voice for solicitors, encouraging young people to enter the profession and build their careers. We need to ensure our justice system continues to serve everyone effectively.’
